Description

MAGUS Metal VD700 BD is an inverted metallurgical digital microscope – the revolving nosepiece is located under the specimen and it uses reflected light for observations. Microscopy techniques available: brightfield, darkfield, and polarized light. The microscope is used for studying metals, alloys, semiconductors, and other opaque specimens of large sizes up to 2kg. It is widely used in industrial facilities, factories, and quality control laboratories as well as in universities and research centers.

Digital Camera

The MAGUS CLM30 digital camera is designed for use in fluorescence and darkfield microscopy techniques.
The camera is equipped with an 8.3MP sensor and produces realistic images at a resolution of 3840x2160px. The camera is recommended for use with 4x, 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives. When working with low magnification objectives, the camera will allow you to see finer details.
Video is recorded at 45fps or 70fps depending on its resolution: They are smooth with soft and subtle transitions between frames. The movement of the sample is displayed in real time with no delays. The camera makes it easy to work with objects that are moving and is suitable for classroom demonstrations.
The camera is equipped with a USB3.0 interface. The data transfer speed is 10 times faster than USB2.0 cameras. The high-speed camera is recommended for professional laboratories, research, or university training.

Optics

You can install the microscope head in a standard way or rotate it 180° as provided by the design. There is an option to install a digital camera and monitor: A trinocular tube is located in the microscope head, a side camera port one – on the body. The beam splitting is available for both: 50:50 and 100:0 for the microscope head as well as 100:0 and 0:100 for the body.

A revolving nosepiece for 5 objectives is located under the examined specimen. There are 4 slots for installing the included objectives and one more slot for installing an additional one. All objectives for this microscope are labeled BD, i.e., they are specially designed for brightfield and darkfield microscopy and have a long working distance.

Illumination

Light source: 50W halogen bulb. The warm lighting reduces eye strain and is ideal for long hours of working with the microscope. Thanks to the powerful illumination, you will get a well-detailed sharp image using any microscopy techniques and any objective. The light source can be centered along three axes, and the Köhler illumination can be adjusted by aperture and field diaphragms. The reflected light illumination system also includes a polarization device and a darkfield device.

Stage and focusing mechanism

Stage with a round rotating stage plate in the center. Depending on the intended use, different plates can be used: They differ in the diameter of the hole – 10mm, 20mm, or 30mm. After placing the specimen on the stage, it is secured with a holder. The specimen moves along with the stage in two directions: X-axis or Y-axis. Coarse (has a lock knob and tension adjustment) focusing and fine focusing are used for focus adjustment. Coaxial coarse and fine focusing knobs are located on both sides in such a way that you can place your hands on the table when using a microscope rather than keeping them in the air.

Accessories

When you add additional accessories to the MAGUS Metal V700 BD microscope, its capabilities expand. The accessories include eyepieces, darkfield and brightfield objectives with long working distance, digital cameras, and calibration slides.

Key features of the microscope:

  • Stage with a round stage plates with 10mm, 20mm, and 30mm holes; suitable for studying heavy and large samples
  • Brightfield, darkfield, and polarized light microscopy techniques
  • Option to rotate the microscope head 180° during installation
  • Two options for mounting the monitor and digital camera: trinocular tube and a side camera port; beam splitting: 100:0 and 0:100 on the body and 50:50 and 100:0 on the trinocular head
  • Powerful halogen illuminator (50W) for comfortable observations using darkfield technique, brightness control, Köhler illumination setup, color filters, and a light source can be centered along three axes
  • Optional accessories to improve the microscope’s performance

Key features of the camera:

  • For fluorescence and darkfield microscopy with 4x, 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives
  • 8.3MP resolution: When observing with low magnification objectives, the camera will allow you to see finer details
  • 45fps and 70fps at 3840x2160px and 1920x1080px resolutions for observing moving samples, recording video, and moving the preparation without jerks and delays
  • Peltier element reduces the sensor temperature during prolonged operation and eliminates thermal noise. Therefore, long shutter speeds can be used when taking photos
  • SONY Exmor color CMOS backlit sensor provides a low noise level and high light sensitivity even in low-light conditions. You will get clearer, brighter, and more color-saturated images
  • USB3.0 interface for fast, smooth data transfer
  • Software with photo, video recording, editing, external display functions, linear and angular measurements
