Levenhuk Discovery Sky T60 is a classic AZ refractor. It is a great choice for beginners. On the one hand, its optics enable you to observe many of the outer space objects (you can easily observe the Moon) and, on the other hand, learning how to operate the telescope will only take a couple of minutes. The extended accessory kit is another undeniable advantage of this telescope - you don't need to buy anything separately! The kit even includes a knowledge book about space.
All of the objects can be observed at a different magnification. Replace the eyepiece or add a Barlow lens to change the magnification range. An erect image eyepiece and a diagonal mirror are included in the kit for terrestrial observations. These accessories enable the telescope to be used as a powerful spotting scope. An optical finderscope mounted to a telescope tube is used to locate celestial objects.
The AZ mount features a microscrew on the vertical axis enabling you to accurately and smoothly set a telescope on the selected object. The tripod is made of aluminum-alloy and equipped with an accessory tray. The tripod's height is adjustable, so the telescope can be easily adjusted according to the user's height. The tripod is stable. It is steady on uneven surfaces.
The knowledge book “Space. Non-empty emptiness” is of great help in mastering the basics of astronomy. This colorful guide tells all about the solar system (the Sun as well as planets and their satellites), meteors and comets, distant stars, and much more, in an accessible way. The book contains many vivid illustrations and telescope tips.
